The crash took place around noon, Wednesday, Jan. 26, when the Westport Fire Department along with Westport Police and EMS were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash with injuries on Wilton Road at the intersection with Patrick Road.

According to Westport Assistant Chief Matthew Cohen, when emergency responders arrived on the scene they found a two-vehicle accident with injuries.

The driver of one vehicle was unable to exit the vehicle due to damage from the impact, Cohen said.

Fire department personnel used the hydraulic cutters to remove the driver’s side door. One person was transported to Norwalk Hospital with apparent non-life-threatening injuries by Westport EMS.

Wilton Road remained closed until the vehicles could be removed from the travel lanes.

The crash is currently under investigation by the Westport Police Department.
